Aerial connectivity

The Solomon Islands is increasingly accessible, with over 15 direct weekly flights to four international destinations. These routes connect Honiara with major Pacific gateways such as Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu, while onward connections through airline alliances and codeshare agreements link the country to Asia, New Zealand, and the United States.

The main entry point, Honiara International Airport (HIR) in Guadalcanal Province, serves as the nation’s primary international gateway, while Munda International Airport is designated for future international services. Domestically, more than 20 airports and airfields, serviced primarily by Solomon Airlines, ensure reliable travel across the archipelago. This growing network makes the Solomon Islands not only a unique destination for visitors but also a strategically connected hub for trade, tourism, and investment in the South Pacific.

Fiji Airways offers direct flights between Nadi, Fiji and Honiara, Solomon Islands, operating multiple times per week. The approximately 3-hour flight provides a convenient connection between Solomon Islands and a major Pacific hub.

Through codeshare and interline partnerships, passengers can connect to destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Pacific, enhancing Solomon Islands’ accessibility for international travelers and investors.
