Special Economic Zones Act 2025

The Special Economic Zones Act 2025 establishes the legal framework for creating, developing, and operating Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Solomon Islands. Its objective is to foster economic growth, employment, and investment by designating specific areas for industrial, commercial, agricultural, fisheries, tourism, and technology-related activities. 

The Act sets out procedures for zone designation, licensing for developers and operators, operating agreements, and supervision mechanisms. It also provides investment incentives, establishes the Special Economic Zones Authority to regulate and oversee SEZs, and introduces mechanisms for transparency, land use arrangements, and dispute resolution, ensuring SEZs contribute to sustainable national development
