The National Development Strategy (NDS) 2016–2035 is Solomon Islands’ long-term roadmap for achieving inclusive and sustainable development. It sets out a 20-year vision to improve social and economic livelihoods, focusing on five key objectives: sustained economic growth; poverty reduction and access to essential services; resilient and environmentally sustainable development; unified and stable governance; and effective education and human resource development.
The strategy emphasizes partnerships between government, private sector, and communities, aligning national policies and resources with regional and global commitments, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is designed as a living framework, with regular monitoring and five-year medium-term development plans to guide implementation .
